MGI Securities Inc. ("
MGI
") is committed to protecting its customers' personal information. Personal information is any information that identifies you as an individual and includes information such as your name, address, age, gender, income, marital status, finances, employment, trading history and your social insurance number.
How MGI uses your personal information
MGI uses your personal information to:
establish, maintain and administer your financial services account;
provide you with financial services and financial products to suit your needs; and
meet regulatory and contractual requirements relating services and financial products provided to you
MGI does not sell client lists or your personal information.
MGI may collect your personal information and transfer or disclose your personal information to:
affiliated companies for the purposes of providing you with products and services offered by MGI and our affiliated companies;
third parties who provide services to MGI in order for MGI to properly maintain and service your account. (Your personal information is only provided to those service providers who need your information to do their jobs); and
various government agencies, securities commissions and self-regulatory organizations ("SROs") for purposes such as tax reporting, compliance with money laundering and anti-terrorism legislation and securities regulation. Personal Information may be disclosed to SRO's and used and disclosed by the SRO's for regulatory purposes, including surveillance of trading-related activity, sales and financial compliance, investigation of potential regulatory and statutory violations, regulatory databases, enforcement or disciplinary proceedings.
Your consent
MGI will only collect, use or disclose personal information with your consent, except as required by law.
Consent may be oral, written, expressed (e.g. providing your personal information on an application form) or implied (e.g. not withdrawing your consent to a certain use of your personal information when given the opportunity to do so). Your authorized representative may give consent on your behalf.
You can at any time withdraw your consent for MGI to collect, use and disclose your personal information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.
Protecting your personal information
MGI maintains security standards and procedures intended to safeguard your personal information.
MGI maintains a file of your personal information which is kept at either MGI's head office, branch office or both. Only those MGI employees, agents and authorized service providers who need your personal information to do their jobs are given access to your personal information.
All of MGI's suppliers and agents with whom MGI has a contractual relationship are required to collect, use and disclose personal information according to MGI's Privacy Policy.
When does MGI release personal information?
MGI does not release personal information about you to anyone other than as described herein, unless you request or authorize it, or if the information is provided to complete a transaction initiated by you or if MGI is required by law to disclose the information.
How do I keep my personal information accurate?
MGI will try to ensure that the personal information collected and used is accurate and, where necessary, updated. You have the right to ask MGI to correct any inaccurate information about you in MGI's possession.
How long does MGI retain personal information?
Your personal information will only be kept as long as it is needed or as required by law.
Opting out
It is always your choice whether or not to provide personal information or to consent to MGI obtaining personal information about you from third parties. If you choose not to provide the requested personal information or consents, MGI may not be able to provide you with certain products and services. For example, you may refuse consent for MGI to do a credit check, but MGI may not be able to extend credit or margin services to you.

You can write to MGI if you want to access the personal information MGI has about you. In some situations, you may not be able to access all of your personal information if, for example, it would reveal personal information about a third party or would reveal confidential commercial information.
